Meet Dr. Provencio

Dr. Augustine Provencio is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in psychological and neurodevelopmental assessment for children from birth to 18 years. His clinical interests include autism, developmental differences, learning and attention concerns, and emotional and behavioral functioning. He is particularly passionate about working with young children and their families and takes a child-centered approach to assessment that emphasizes each child’s unique strengths and area of need.

Dr. Provencio completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), with a focus on early childhood and child and adolescent assessment and treatment. He conducted evaluations in English and Spanish, provided evidence-based therapy to young children and their caregivers, and supervised doctoral trainees. His clinical training also included experiences at UCSF and Providence Saint John’s Child and Family Development Center.

Dr. Provencio earned his BS in Biopsychology from UC Santa Barbara, an MA in Education from the University of the Pacific, and a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Drawing on his background as a bilingual Spanish-speaking psychologist and former 5th-grade teacher and education specialist, he is committed to culturally responsive care and helping families understand their children’s needs across home and school settings.

Outside of his clinical experiences, Dr. Provencio enjoys hiking, discovering new music, and cooking. He and his wife also have two cats, Mojo and Junie, who provide plenty of entertainment outside of work!
